Prior to the recent Veterans Administration revelations, Obama’s big-government allies touted the VA as a “shining city on a hill” for the rest of Americans.

But what we’re learning about the federal government’s treatment of our sick and injured veterans is nothing short of horrifying.

As you know, the VA is now under investigation for making vets wait dangerously long for medical care, and hiding it by putting phony numbers on the official records.

So far, record-tampering has been exposed at 76% of VA facilities, putting 57,000 vets on secret wait lists and leaving another 64,000 off the waiting lists entirely.

There have been thirty-five confirmed deaths just at one Phoenix clinic, where the average wait for a primary-care appointment is 115 days.

One victim’s relative was even told, “it’s a seven-month waiting list. And you’re gonna have to have patience.”

And most recently, another VA doctor has come forward to reveal “an eight-month waiting list for patients to get ultrasounds of their hearts” in Albuquerque, where “some patients have died before they got their studies.”

According to this whistleblower, one patient had to wait nearly five months to follow up on a possible brain tumor.

Another may lose a limb because he’s had to wait more than a month for surgery after being diagnosed with gangrene.

The details are unbelievable. But the cause is no mystery.

The fact is, the VA is single-payer, government-run healthcare.

These horror stories are no different from what we see wherever it’s tried, even though the VA is only caring for a fraction of the patients a national system would.

Yet this fiasco of rationing and neglect is exactly what Obama and his allies ultimately want for the rest of the country.

For him and his big-government allies, ObamaCare is “just a step in the right direction.”

For the rest of us it’s an unmitigated disaster.
